# Link your WhatsApp number

> Connect your WhatsApp Business number to the inbox by scanning a QR code.

You need: an admin login, and the phone that has your **WhatsApp Business** number on it.

**1. Add the number**

Click **+** on the far left of the inbox (on a phone, open **☰** first). Give the number a name your team will recognise, like "Main shop".

**2. Read and accept the note**

Read the short note about linking by QR code, tick the box, then tap **Show QR code**.

**3. Scan from your phone**

On the phone with that number, open WhatsApp → **⋮** or **Settings** → **Linked devices** → **Link a device**, and scan the code on screen.

**4. Wait for your chats**

Chats start loading straight away. Older messages arrive over the next few minutes.

> [!WARNING]
>
> Keep using WhatsApp on the phone as normal, and **open it at least once every 14 days**. Otherwise WhatsApp unlinks the inbox and you'll need to scan again.

## More than one number

Repeat the steps above for each number. Every number shows on the left, and all their chats come into the same inbox. How many numbers you can add depends on your [plan](/account/plans-and-credits.md).

## If a number drops off

Admins get a notification, and the number shows **Scan QR** on the left. Click it and scan again from the phone, the same way as above. Your chats are kept.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Linking by QR code is not an official WhatsApp product. Please read [Safe use of WhatsApp](/account/safe-whatsapp-use.md) so your number stays in good standing.
